Pomegranate Molasses – is a traditional cooking ingredient of middle Eastern cuisine.
Pomegranate syrup flavour profile is sweet and sour which makes this the most popular souring agent in Persian and Middle Eastern cuisines.
Sour pomegranate fruits are pressed to extract juice. Then the seeds are discarded. Then other ingredients such as sugar and citric acid are also added to the pomegranate juice before boiling. Finally, the juice is reduced to a thick syrup consistency.
